BINARY to Motorola S-Record Converter Utility

This utility program creates a Motorola S-Record file from a BINARY file. Options for this utility program are listed below:

Syntax: BIN2MOT [/option] binfile [motfile]

binfile is the binary input file
motfile is the Motorola S Record file to create

option  may be any of the following

  /Ln     Bytes to read from binary file
  /In     Binary file starting offset
  /On     Output file address offset (where S-Record data starts)
  /M      Merge data into existing Motorola file
  /2      Generate S2/S8 records
  /3      Generate S3/S7 records
  /H      Exclude S0 header record
  /T      Exclude S8/S9 trailer record
  /A      Append new data to end of existing Motorola file
  /Q      Quiet mode (no statistics are displayed)

  /?      This help text

Note: This utility program is a DOS application! It requires 8.3 naming convention for file names and paths and it does not run on 64Bit Windows versions! However, you can execute it in the XP mode (Virtual PC) of Windows 7 if necessary.

The utility srec_cat.exe is an excellent and more versatile replacement for HEX2BIN, BIN2HEX, BIN2MOT and MOT2BIN. This tool is part of the SRecord project hosted on sourceforge.net. You can download it from https://sourceforge.net/projects/srecord/files/srecord-win32.
