Hands-on ARM Embedded TrainingBarsinghausen, Germany — Oct 28, 2008Click Here for More Information... Embedded Systems Academy offers a one day hands-on training class that introduces the ARM7, ARM9 and Cortex-M3 architectures, as well as a technical comparison of popular derivatives from Atmel, NXP (formerly Philips) and ST Microelectronics. When designing with ARM-based microcontrollers one has many choices: processor cores, chip manufacturers, compilers, debuggers and software libraries and source codes like Real-Time Operating Systems and communication stacks (for Ethernet, CAN, USB and others). Of course there are performance differences between all of those, however, it is generally underestimated how major these differences can be. Making all the "good" choices versus making all the "bad" choices may result in differences of up to a factor of 50 (fifty). Meaning that at the same core frequency the "good" version executes 50 times faster than the "bad" version. In just one day participants learn what the biggest pitfalls and traps are when making a decision for a chip, tool or software library. Topics covered during the workshop include:
