QUESTION

I am using a USB security key, and I have connected a programmer to the LPT port of my computer.

It looks like the Keil tools check not only the USB port but also the LPT port for the security key.

How can I set the tools to not query the LPT port for a security key (Dongle)?

ANSWER

You can configure the Sentinel driver to avoid using the LPT ports.

  1. Start the program SetupSysDriver.exe. This program is installed by the Sentinel Driver SETUP in Program Files\Rainbow Technologies\Sentinel System Driver.
  2. Click Configure Driver.
  3. Select the LPT port (listed as EPP, ECP, or IBM) and click Edit.
  4. Select NO under Use this port?.
  5. Restart your computer after changing this setting.
