LICENSE: Merging Flex Floating License File Does Not Increase Seats

Information in this knowledgebase article applies to:

QUESTION

I have a time-limited Flex floating license with multiple seats. When I generated the License.dat file in silver.arm.com, I did not specify all seats of my license under 'Quantity to fulfill' by mistake. Then I created a second License.dat file with the rest of my seats. Now I have merged both License.dat files to have the all seats on one server. However, the FlexNet server does not recognize the full number of seats. How can I fix this?

ANSWER

Unfortunately, you cannot merge License.dat files that were created from the same PSN (Product Serial Number) and for the same server (MAC address). In this case, you need to Rehost both registrations, which is explained in our licensing manual. After that, you can Retrieve one FlexNet License File for all your seats.
