Each Keil software product requires activation with a License ID Code (LIC). The LIC is a personalized Product Serial Number (PSN) that is obtained via e-mail during product registration.
There are two types of product licenses:
Single-User License are available for all Keil Software products and allows a product to be used by a single user on a maximum of two computers.
- Install the software product and Obtain a LIC to activate the Single-User License.
- Uninstall a Single-User License to move a software product to another computer.
Floating-User License are available for many Keil Software products and allows a product to be used on several computers by several different developers at the same time.
To active a Floating-User License:
- Create a Floating License File on a file server that can be accessed by each work-station.
- On each work-stations install the software product and obtain a LIC for activation a local work-station.
Additional options available for a Floating-User License allow you to:
- Review a list of current active users.
- Use a license for an extended period of time without network connection (when you travel with a portable computer).
