Peripheral Simulation

For Silicon Laboratories, Inc. C8051T616 — Watchdog Timer

Simulation support for this peripheral or feature is comprised of:

  • Dialog boxes which display and allow you to change peripheral configuration.

These simulation capabilities are described below.

Watchdog Timer Dialog

Watchdog Timer

The Watchdog Timer dialog shows the current state of the on-chip Watchdog Timer. You may view status and change watchdog settings using the controls in this dialog.

  • WDTCN (Watchdog Timer Control Register) controls the WDT. The timer is enabled, reloaded, and disabled using the following specific bit combinations.
    • Writing 0xA5 enables and reloads the WDT.
    • Writing 0xDE, then 0xAD within 4 system clocks disables the WDT.
    • Writing 0xFF locks out the disable feature.
    • Writing with bit 7 cleared, configures the WDT timeout interval with the value stored in bits 2-0.
    • When reading the WDT, bit 4 set indicates the WDT is active. If reset, the WDT is inactive.
  • Timeout In displays the number of milliseconds before the WDT times out.
