ARM supports the new Freescale Kinetis E series in the Keil MDK-ARM Development Kit
Enabling engineers to create innovative embedded applications
for high-noise environments.
What:
ARM® announces full support within the ARM
Keil™ MDK-ARM™
development kit for the new Freescale Kinetis E series of
devices.
The Kinetis E series is Freescale's 5 Volt MCU family, based on
the ARM Cortex®- M0+ processor. The product's robust
design, advanced electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and
electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection features make it suitable
for application fields that have been traditionally occupied by 8-bit
or 16-bit MCUs, such as white goods, industrial converters, and other
equipment commonly operating in high-noise environments.
Why:
The long-standing collaboration between Freescale and ARM enables
engineers to immediately use the MDK-ARM development kit in projects
based on the Kinetis E series. The MDK-ARM development kit combines
the state-of-the-art ARM C/C++ Compiler, the µVision4™
IDE and debugger as well as advanced trace functionality and the RTX
RTOS in one easy-to-use package. The MDK-Professional Middleware
libraries provide excellent support for the sophisticated peripherals
of the Kinetis E MCU series, and enable developers to concentrate on
the unique features of their embedded applications.
The Kinetis E series device support is included in the current
version 4.72 of the MDK-ARM development kit.
Who:
The Keil product from ARM include C/C++ compilers, debuggers,
integrated environments, RTOS, simulation models, and evaluation
boards for ARM, Cortex-M, Cortex-R4, ARM7, ARM9, 8051, C166, and 251
processor families.
