QUESTION

The µVision editor has a feature called Goto Matching Brace. However, I can't seem to make this command work. I've been using the default key (Ctrl+]) but this doesn't work. What am I doing wrong?

ANSWER

You are doing nothing wrong. The default for this is Ctrl+ECtrl+] is not configured in µVision. To configure it...

  1. Click on the view menu and select options... (at the very bottom).
  2. Click on the Shortcut Keys tab.
  3. Select Edit: Advanced: Goto Matching Brace from the list of commands.
  4. Click Create Shortcut.
  5. Type Ctrl+] to add this as the shortcut key.
  6. Click OK.

After you follow these steps, Ctrl+] and Ctrl+E will locate the matching brace in your program.
