µVISION: Updating Serial Number After RenewingInformation in this article applies to:
QUESTIONI have just renewed my support contract and received a new serial number. However, the µVision IDE still shows my old serial number. I verified this by going to Help -> About µVision, and looking at the 'Serial Number:' section. How can I update this serial number with the new one I just received? ANSWERThe information from the Help-> About µVision window is pulled from a *.ini file. You can find this in the \KEIL\TOOLS.INI file. After opening the TOOLS.INI file, look for the Compiler you are using in brackets. For example, [C51] list all of the relevant details for C51. Look for a line SN=XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX where XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX is your old serial number. Enter your new serial number here.
