µVISION: Text Editor Doesn't Automatically Indent

QUESTION

When I insert a new line, the text editor always positions the cursor to the left side of the text window. How do I get the text editor to position the cursor to the current indent level when I insert a new line?

ANSWER

Enable the Auto Indent feature of the text editor. From the Keil µVision IDE, click on Edit in the menu bar, then click on Configuration - this opens the Configuration dialog. On the top left of the dialog, next to select the Block option from the Auto Indent pull down box.

Press OK to close the dialog. Try all three auto indent options, and find which works best.
