µVISION DEBUGGER: Debug and Flash download problems with J-Link

Information in this knowledgebase article applies to:

• MDK-ARM release 4.22a
• J-Link and J-Trace debugger

SYMPTOM

Some issues have been detected when using J-Link or J-Trace for debugging or flash-download. These are in detail:

• FPU register were not updated with Cortex-M4 devices.
• Breakpoints did not work with big-endian Cortex-R4 devices.
• Under certain conditions, a flash-verify did not work.
• Under certain conditions, µVision crashed when using ETM trace with J-Trace.
• Improvement: FPU register for Cortex-R4 devices added.

RESOLUTION

Download the attachment of this knowledgebase article and extract the zip file to the folder C:\Keil\ARM\Segger. The drive and path (C:\Keil) may vary depending on your MDK-ARM installation path. This updates all Segger JLINK and JTRACE related drivers for µVision.

Please note that the attached files are only intended for MDK-ARM release 4.22a. Later releases will already include these improvements.
