µVISION: Chinese Characters in µVISIONInformation in this knowledgebase article applies to:
QUESTIONHow do I configure µVision for Chinese characters? ANSWERYou may use either UTF-8 or UTF-16 in all software, including µVision, or other file editors under Windows OS. Unicode is designed to resolve any characters issues, especially for Chinese, Japanese and Korean (JDK chars). Unicode can be implemented as a different character encoding. UTF-16 and UTF-8 are different Unicode implementations. µVision also offers the Encoding of Chinese GB2312 (Simplified) and Chinese BIG5 (Traditional):
GB2312 is one kind of Chinese character encoding standards released by the China government, which was superseded by GBK or GB18030. The latter encoding can support much more characters than GB2312. But GB2312 was published years ago - so it is widely supported such as Windows OS. MORE INFORMATION
