Several network interfaces are supported in the Network Component:

Ethernet is used for communication over an Ethernet-based IP network.
Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) is used for IP communication over a direct connection between two networking nodes.
Serial Line Internet Protocol (SLIP) is used for IP communication over a serial line.
