Run External Programs
External programs can be integrated into and run from the menu Tools.
Add menu items for running external programs through the dialog Tools — Customize Tools Menu. The picture below shows an example of integrating Notepad.

Adds a new menu item. |

Deletes the highlighted menu item. |

Moves the menu item up in the list. |

Moves the menu item down in the list. |
| Menu Content list field | Is the list of menu items that are added to the menu Tools. |
| Prompt for Arguments | Opens a dialog at runtime to enter programs arguments manually. |
| Run Minimized | Runs the program in a minimized window. |
| Run Independent | µVision does not wait for the program to finish. |
| Command | Enter the command that invokes the program. You can use environment variables as described in Key Sequences to pass arguments. |
| Initial Folder | Enter the default folder for the program. |
| Arguments | Enter program arguments. Key Sequences can be used to transmit arguments from µVision to the external program. |
